Apostille is the term used for a process of authentication of documents being used in any of the 115 signatory countries of the Hague Conference due to International Law. This service is used by companies involved in global business; by students enrolling in graduate school abroad; and by families who are in the midst of adopting internationally.
For documents to be eligible for authentication they must be:
- The originals,
- Notarized locally,
- Include all necessary translations,
- And specify which country they’ll be used later.
Each California Secretary of State Apostille filing is different, and the Apostille fees vary, which makes it difficult to predict the fees for each filing. Generally, the State’s fees will include $20 for the Apostille certificate and $6 for each applicable signature authentication.
Submitting multiple Apostille requests simultaneously will ensure you a discounted service rate.
