When directly serving a business entity or their agent proves unsuccessful, Substituted Service of Process through the Secretary of State’s office may be necessary.

To qualify for substituted service, the Secretary of State must be provided with a court order permitting the service, a copy of the document to be served (generally summons & complaint), and the requisite State’s fee. We can submit substituted California attorney service to the Secretary of State in person on your behalf. Please note the confirmation certificate will be sent directly from the State and is not readily available at the State’s counter when the documents are delivered.

$180 – Includes State Submission Fee, State Certificate Fee, & Sierra Express’ Service Fee
